Taught vocal jazz at Long Island University and Queens College, 11 years as an adjunct professor at The New School Jazz and Contemporary Music, NYU Jazz Program, conducted workshops and clinics in over 20 countries, 12 years with Young Audiences and Workshops with Percussionist David Pleasant, Lincoln Centers’ Meet The Artist Series, One Flight Up and 5 C performance space, Blood On The Fields Tour he conducted workshops at high schools, colleges and centers, worked at The Jazz Gallery and Jazz Standard as a clinician to expose college students to the vocal jazz genre, taught at Jazz Mobile, the North Netherlands Conservatoire in Groningen and Festival Jazz A tri-state arts organization that has professional jazz artists bring jazz combos into public and private school districts to teach/perform for the student body. Festival Jazz exposes grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth to African-American Classical Music, Jazz. I’ve conducted vocal jazz workshops at Berklee College of Music. Jazz with Sculpture is a Trio consisting of Artist/Sculptor Roberta Berman, Percussionist/Dancer/Vocalist David Pleasant and I infuse finished instrumental sculptures and then improvise African and Jazz rhythms simultaneously as we paint/play/sing/dance. We conduct workshops and play the Tri-State area galleries, jazz clubs, theater, hospitals, schools and museums. Miles is a summer vocal faculty mentor and international juror of the Slovenian Jazz Composition competition called, “Jazzon” since 2003 at Jazzinty in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. He’s also a new summer Vocal faculty instructor of Plesni Dance School in Izola, Slovenia. Recently, Miles was the Associate Vocal Jazz Professor at Columbia University’s Louis Armstrong Jazz Program and Music Department and also start teaches at City College Jazz Program. Since 2008, Miles teaches as the adjunct Professor at Queens College Jazz Program. Miles continues to teach private vocal techniques, various vocal styles and vocal Jazz around the globe. Miles Griffith vocal instruction trained several vocal stars in Rap: Common and Q-tip. R&B: Bilal and Nkechi Mbakwe. In 2003 Sang the Steve Harvey Burger King radio Commercial. In 2006-2007 he sang on the Cover Girl Commercial with Queen Latifah acting as spokeswoman. Miles Griffith has performed several commercials in the states and in Europe.
Miles has 5 recordings as a leader Spiritual Freedom, Expanded Interpretations, I Found You, Smile Again and The Struggle Never Dies February 2008 under his label Griffith Records. He plans to release more recordings in the future. February 2008, The Struggle Never Dies – release and European tour. In 2007 Robert G. Roy featuring Milesz Single – Embracing My Heart released in Europe. Miles fourth CD, Smile Again on Griffith Records will be distributed by Dallas Records in Slovenia, Italy, Croatia and all ex-Yugoslavian territories.
